Here is My Story
I woke up to a terrible day on January 27, 2023, as I had not received my Adsense payment, which I had been eagerly awaiting since the 21st. After conducting extensive research, I discovered that my account was undergoing an investigation due to invalid activity. I was terrified as I had a substantial balance of $70,000 in my Adsense account, and I had acquired it through legitimate and natural clicks.
However, my worst fears were realized when my Google Publisher account was disabled on February 1st, 2023, due to three reasons:
- More ads or paid promotional material than publisher content,
- Site behavior: Navigation
- Encouraging accidental clicks: Layout.
Although I wasn’t sure if I had committed all three mistakes, it was true that I had less content than ads on my site.
Despite the account suspension, I hoped that I would receive my final payment since the balance had already been added to my main finalized balance. According to Adsense’s policy, the final payment is given even if the publisher’s account is closed or suspended.
On February 9th, my dashboard still showed that my balance was $68,000, and I assumed I would receive my payment in the next cycle on February 21st. However, I was dismayed to discover that my balance had been reduced to zero and was even in the negative on 10th February.
I was extremely in a bad mood that I couldn’t sleep or eat for a few days. I was able to handle 500k traffic per day but I was unlucky to secure my earnings. What a frustrating experience I had on Adsense!
If I had known earlier, I would have made my pages compliant with Adsense’s policies and rectified any mistakes while the investigation was ongoing. I regret not taking any action and waiting without making any changes.

If it says “PENDING,” Adsense has initiated the payment, and it should arrive in one or two days. If there is nothing, check the Adsense Payment Troubleshooter to see if there are any holds on your account.

They check suspicious behavior and find out if anything was done by robots rather than humans behavior. They can easily track the robot and may disable your account. If you have used any robot, you can lose hope in your Adsense. The other factors they check are Ad Placements and all of the Adsense program policies. If they find anything wrong, they may disable your account.
How long does it take?
According to Google, it takes around 30-45 days to complete the investigations. If no violation is found, your account will be reinstated to the normal state when the investigation ends.
How to know if your payment is pending due to the investigation or other reasons?
If your payment is pending, it is not confirmed that your account is under investigation. There are other reasons why the payment is not sent by Google. The possible reasons are:
- You have not verified your Identity or Address yet.
- You have not added the payment method yet.
- You have not completed the tax info
- You have placed a self-threshold that you haven’t met yet.
- You have not reached the general payment threshold.
